COCK, George Leonard - 35, Upper Onslow, Colchester Co., died June 21, 1997, in Toronto General Hospital, due to an infection following a double lung transplant on March 18, 1997. Born in Truro, he was a son of Eldon and Peggy (Swan) Cock, Upper Onslow. A graduate of Cobequid Educational Centre, Truro, in 1980 and Dalhousie University with a bachelor of commerce degree in 1984, he was general manager of the family business, Valley View Cycle. George was a chief instructor of a motorcycle training program for a number of years. He had many friends in motorcycle, ATV and snowmobile circles. He was a member of the Kinsman Club of Truro, holding various executive positions; member of Fundy Trail and North Shore snowmobile clubs, and the Cystic Fibrosis Society of Nova Scotia. He is survived by his wife, the former Debra Cochrane, Bible Hill; brother, Gordon and wife Theresa, Grande Prairie, Alta.; grandmother, Christine Swan, Port Hawkesbury; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Albert and Mae (Thompson) Cock; maternal grandfather, Warren Swan. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m., memorial service Thursday at 2 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro, Rev. Ebbie Snow officiating. Burial in Crossroad's Cemetery, Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Society of Nova Scotia, the Toronto Lung Transplant Program or to a charity of choice.
